DAS Transports Buffalo From Montana To Texas For Katrina Evacuees.

A contribution of meat from at least 10 buffalo in a tribal herd was offered by Tribes on Montana's Fort Belknap Indian Reservation soon after the hurricane, but came to a temporary standstill for lack of transportation. Dependable Auto Shippers, Inc. (DAS), based in Dallas, Texas has donated the transportation from Montana to Texas. Combined efforts by the Fort Belknap Indian Community Council, the Little Rocky Mountain Meat Packing Co. and DAS will provide 5,000 lbs. of bison meat for Katrina evacuees being housed in the Dallas area. In addition to donating transportation, DAS and its Dallas, New Jersey, Florida and California employees gave $7,400, 750 lbs of food, bedding, clothing, baby items, bottled water, books, toys and toiletry items for those in need due to Katrina. DAS has been in the domestic and overseas vehicle transport business for over 50 years and has terminal locations in Texas, New Jersey, Florida and California.  The corporate office is located in Dallas, Texas.
