How a Car Transporter Is Not Like that One Movie

Auto Transport | Car shipping process | Choosing an auto shipper | Industry Information | Shipping Heavy Equipment

Perhaps you’ve seen the movies with Jason Statham as Frank Martin. He used to be a Special Forces operative. He’s retired now, but not from the game. He’s a mercenary transporter of goods, products, people, and unspeakably illegal things.

For enough cash, The Transporter would probably deliver your vehicle, too. But, what a bad idea that would be!

5 Ways a Vehicle Shipper Is Better than The Transporter

  1.  Safety, security, reliability of professional car transport.

A professional vehicle shipper offers peace of mind and the ease of drop-off and pick-up.

We do not offer mayhem. Sure, The Transporter in the movies is reliable in a Hollywood fashion. Foiling bad guys and saving the world or whatever. Really, though, high speed car chases, explosions, close quarters combat, advanced weaponry--we just don’t do that.

What we do is deliver vehicles anywhere, anytime, and we have for over 50 years. Jason Statham’s just a baby at 48.

  2.  Predictability, dependability, and time-tested processes for delivery.

When you’ve got your hands full with rogue agents and femme fatales, it becomes difficult to meet deadlines and make deliveries within guaranteed timeframes.

For our customers whose schedule requires it, DAS is usually able to offer guaranteed delivery windows. We’ve perfected our processes over decades of being the best in the business.

If you choose to let us pick up your vehicle from your home or office, our drivers and customer service team will be in touch with you to schedule a time that’s convenient for you, or your authorized designee, to make the hand off. Same thing at the destination end of the vehicle shipment, we’ll work with you to find a convenient time to transfer your vehicle back into your care.

Plus, we’ll never call you from the middle of a chase scene or a burning building.

  3.  As car transporters, we’re fully licensed and insured.

Whereas we’re not certain, but pretty sure, there’s not a licensing body or insurance agency for the bad guys. Can you even imagine what their premiums would be?

At each end of every vehicle delivery, our process includes a thorough inspection of the vehicle by both the vehicle’s owner, or designee, and the shipper’s representative. During this careful inspection, both parties complete the Bill of Lading to accurately represent the condition of the vehicle before and after shipment.

This standard practice protects both parties in the event that the vehicle endures any changes during shipment. In that uncommon instance, the Bill of Lading is one of the key documents used to process an insurance claim.

  4.  We ship bigger than he does.

It goes without saying that we don’t ship anything like what Jason Statham’s character does in those movies. Obviously.

What we do ship is vehicles. All kinds of vehicles. Not just cars and trucks. Think bigger. Not just SUVs and minivans.

    Think bigger.

    • We ship boats. Big boats. Yachts, catamarans, bass boats, ski boats. Jet skis.

    • We ship motorhomes and fifth-wheels. Recreational vehicles of all sorts.

    • We ship farm equipment, like tractors and combines.

We ship construction equipment, like earth movers and bulldozers.

    • We’ve even shipped water towers and wind turbines.

We’d like to see Statham do that.

What’s more, we ship ATVs, snowmobiles, multiple or single motorcycles. We ship classic cars, kit cars, or even just the chassis of a classic car on its way to a famous repair and rebuild shop.

We ship vehicles that aren’t in working order and vehicles with all manner of aftermarket modifications, like a Viking ship to the Renaissance fair, for instance.

  5.  Unlike The Transporter, we don’t work alone.

That’s how we can ship so much, so big, so often, so well, so far and wide.

Once his movie starts, he hardly leaves the city in which he started. Sure, there’s a boat chase and an island, but that’s it.

We cross county lines, state lines, country borders. We ship overseas and down the street. We’re just so much more versatile than the pretty boys.

We have been a leader in this business for a long time and have formed deep trusted partner relationships with other car transport agencies literally around the world. In the US alone, we have established over 90 DAS-certified partner facilities.

If there’s one near you, you can choose to drop it off with us and save on the extra cost of our driving coming out to meet you. If you prefer that convenience, we’re happy to oblige. If we have a facility near your vehicle’s final destination, you are welcome to pick it up from us there. Or, again, we can deliver to your specified location.

The Transporter is a fictional character. We’re the real deal.

As far as we know, Statham’s character is fictional. Regardless, none of us would know how to contact him anyway. It’s not like he advertises.

You can contact DAS anytime, day or night, using our online contact form. Or you can call us toll-free at 888-817-6203.

When you know your move dates, you’re ready to get an instant free quote. Just fill out the form on the left-side of any page on our site.

Unless you’re shipping something like a water tower, then we’ll need to talk through some details to figure out which equipment and special teams we’ll need to deploy. Even then, we won’t be sending Mr. Statham.
